Disclaimer: I received this Mango Papaya Body Oil from Lala Skin Essentials. After incorporating it into my body care routine for 21days, I share my honest review.

My usual shower routine consisted of washing my body with a bar of body soap or a shower gel, scrubbing my body using my DIY coffee-sugar body scrub once in a while, rinsing off, leaving the shower and drying off with a towel before applying lotion on my body.

This only worked because I used thick lotions with much glycerin in them and when I tried using body lotion without glycerin, I never had a beautiful experience while applying the lotion since it would never glide on my skin.

And when I learned that you should apply body lotion on moist skin, the experience became much better. I’d get out of the shower, slap the lotion on my moist body skin then wait for at least five minutes for the lotion to absorb into my skin before putting on any clothes. Now, this was time-wasting especially when I was in a hurry!

I knew I needed something better.

Then I came across this Mango Papaya body oil from Lala Skin Essentials, and the description read, ‘a premium blend of natural oils for the best moisture and massage therapy at home. It’s packed with vitamins and essential oils to condition dry skin and to leave you with a naturally youthful glow.

I wanted it! I wanted to try a body oil and see if it would be my better body care product.

How Is Body Oil Different From Body Lotion?

Body oils are made primarily with oils and they are designed to nourish your skin’s outer protective barrier.

They do an excellent job of preventing moisture from leaving your skin. They’re also important for protecting our skin barrier since they play a role in helping us fight off sun damage and skin aging.

Body oils do not leave your skin feeling greasy, instead are designed to absorb quickly. Thus, they are best used as massage oils.

Body lotions, on the other hand, are likely to be thicker than oils and can be applied directly to the skin.

They are designed to penetrate the skin and once absorbed, the active ingredients like Vitamin E work to soothe, hydrate, and rejuvenate the upper layers of your skin.

They tend to contain humectants that bring moisture to our skin, which is important for healthy skin barrier function.

On receiving this complimentary body oil from Lala Skin Essentials, I was excited to see how body oils work. So, let’s explore it together!

Let’s Analyze The Ingredients

Shea butter is definitely having a moment in the skincare arena, and it’s here to stay!

The African butter is amazing for dry skin, has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to help get rid of blemishes like acne, contains cinnamic acid- a naturally occurring substance that helps protect the skin from harmful UV rays and also softens skin, including tough skin on the feet.

Coconut oil is a highly saturated oil that when applied to your skin, it can help keep it hydrated. It also helps reduce inflammation and is good for wound healing.

This oil is loved in skincare because it immediately penetrates the skin and smoothes easily, helping to promote healthy, glowing skin without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue.

How To Use Lala Skin Essential’s Mango Papaya Body Oil

A body oil is simply an oil that can be used on and below your neck. Ideally, a body oil should sink into the skin and not leave you feeling greasy.

They can range anywhere from inexpensive mineral oils to higher-quality plant oils. But good thing, our Mango Papaya body oil is a high-quality plant oil and we love it that way!

To use the Mango Papaya body oil:

  • Enjoy a nice warm shower and apply the oil post-shower.
  • Before toweling off and while your skin is still damp, drop oil over your entire body.
  • Give those pesky dry spots like heels, knees, and cuticles an extra dose of oil to show those areas some tender love and care.
  • Massage the oil into your skin as you enjoy the enticing smell.

A little goes a long way and works wonders to replenish dry skin!

Quick Tip…

You can also use this body oil as a massage oil. Use it to massage your back, feet, or wherever you need it the most to make your skin soft, loosen up the muscles, and relieve stress.

Razor cuts can also be so irritating. So avoid them by applying the oil to your legs for a clean shave sans the razor burns.

Use the body oil post-shower – pat your skin down, but keep it a bit damp to maximize the moisture gained from your bath.

Another option is to apply your oil in-shower after using body wash and before drying down.

You can also add a few drops of oil to your body cream to provide a more luxurious feel. However, make sure the scents blend in well.

When using a body cream, remember to wear your body cream before massaging the oil on your skin.

My Verdict

This Mango Papaya Body Oil Is A Multitasker Soon to Replace Your Body Lotion!

I have been using this body oil for more than 3 weeks after my shower routine and I loved how luxurious it feels on my skin. I massage it from below my neck to my toes and feel on top of the world!

Ladies, if you’re looking to feel more feminine, wear a luxurious body oil on your whole body and just admire how luxe your skin feels like.

Trust me, even if you wore a pair of jeans and a tee on top, you’ll walk with your head held high because you feel so good underneath!

Another great thing about this body oil is that it has an enticing smell that is fresh and fruity-it almost smells citrusy but not that much. I love fresh and citrus perfumes and that makes it so easy to layer fragrances.

Currently, I’m using Chanel’s No.5 Eau Premiere and the citrus blend is on another level!
